Washington DC - Okay, enough is enough. Another round of bonuses for AIG executives to the tune of $165 million. The Treasury Department determined that it doesn't have the legal authority to block the payments to AIG execs. In all fairness to The Treasury Department, the have requested AIG to refrain and restrain future payments.
AIG Chairman Edward Liddy stated: "We cannot attract and retain the best and brightest talent to lead and staff the AIG businesses". Excuse me, but aren't these the same people that got the company into this mess in the first place? And the American taxpayers are giving the government their hard earned money to pay more executives bonuses? ENOUGH - LET AIG GO BANKRUPT - maybe they'll come out a stronger company, maybe they won't. If they don't, another company will step in to take their place, that's just business. No hard feelings, just the bottom line.
